Ryan C. Kaiser
Trial Lawyer and Founder
Ryan is a no-nonsense civil litigator who competes to win. There is no second place in litigation, and cases are never won by simply hanging back. For the past 15 years, Ryan has helped his clients when they need him most, resolving high-conflict and complex disputes with confidence and skill. His diverse litigation experience includes a special focus on will and trust litigation, business disputes, employment law, and privacy rights. Although winning cases for clients is far more important than receiving awards, Ryan was nominated, vetted, and selected as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers in 2015 - 2018 (Oregon) and 2010 - 2012 (Texas), a distinction that is bestowed on less than 2.5% of the attorneys in the state. Broken Top Law is based in Central Oregon and represents both businesses and individuals in Oregon courts and in arbitration.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Disputes are a part of doing business, but resolving them does not always require the expense and distraction associated with litigation. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) can be a useful tool for resolving disputes in a cost-effective and timely manner. Ryan routinely achieves favorable settlements for his clients through independent negotiations with opposing counsel and with the assistance of third-party mediators. Let Ryan's expertise help you realize the benefits of a negotiated resolution.
Ryan meets with potential new clients by appointment only. The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to meet and evaluate Ryan, provide factual information about your case, ask questions, and discuss legal strategies and potential outcomes. The consultation will be billed at Ryan's hourly rate of $350 per hour. The minimum charge for a consultation is one hour. Should the consultation exceed one hour, the additional time is billed in half-hour increments. If both you and Ryan wish to establish an attorney-client relationship, Broken Top Law will prepare an agreement for legal services for your review and signature and ask that you provide an initial retainer deposit in an amount determined by the firm based on the complexity of the case.
